Fast-Track Your Game-Writing Career

The Narrative Department’s Game Writing Masterclass is an 8-week online program for writers who love video games and are ready to make their mark in the industry.

Building a game-writing career requires knowledge, skills, and above all, COMMUNITY - because game development is a team sport. To succeed, writers need to know how to collaborate so well with designers that players won't know be able to tell where the game ends and the story begins.

Without a roadmap or guidance, the process of breaking in (and staying in!) can be overwhelming.

The Game Writing Masterclass can save you years of expensive trial and error.

Our alumni have gone on to become game writers or narrative designers at Blizzard, Cloud Chamber, Crimson Herring, Deck Nine, Deviation Games, EA, Firaxis, HakJak, High Moon Studios, Jam City, Kluge Interactive, Massive Games, Monumental,  Obsidian, Spooky Doorway, Squid Games, System Era Softworks, Telltale, Tencent, Undead Labs, and ZeniMax. And the list keeps growing.

We’d love to help you, too.

Registration opens again in September.

"I just loved knowing that the class was coming every week, knowing that I had these people who I could always reach out to on Slack, even if we didn't talk all the time. Just knowing that they were there created that structure and that rising creative tide in me that motivated me to do good work in the class."

Rachel

"I've done game jams. I studied games at university. I have been in writing groups, and I've gone to writing conferences. I couldn't have gotten this [experience] anywhere else."

Lovro
